ANNOUNCEMENT:

Accenture becomes prime sponsor of the World Class Policing Awards

World Class Policing Awards 2019

The World Class Policing Awards are pleased to announce that Accenture have enhanced their support for the awards by becoming the lead sponsor of the inaugural 2019 event.

Accenture have announced they will extend their sponsorship of the World Class Policing Awards to become the awards’ leading Sponsor.

Recognising and rewarding innovation is important in all industries and these awards help police forces and public safety industry stakeholders to share, acknowledge and learn from best-practice policing initiatives wherever they occur.

Allan Fairley, Accenture Managing Director for UK Policing

As Founder sponsors of the World Class Policing Awards, Accenture have been involved in the awards since their inception and are already a key partner in helping to ensure this prestigious event recognises policing excellence in the UK and internationally. They are now the awards’ Platinum Sponsor.

Accenture Managing Director for UK Policing Allan Fairley said the decision to upgrade their sponsorship was based on the strong support among policing organisations for the awards and a reflection of Accenture’s commitment to supporting policing industry events in the UK.

Mr Fairley said: “The 54 short-listed projects cover the entire spectrum of modern-day policing and are reflective of the innovative approach to policing we see today from police and public safety organisations nationally and overseas. Accenture are proud to support the World Class Policing Awards which recognise policing excellence and the professionalism of our policing workforce who demonstrate best-practice policing skills daily in the line-of-duty.”

He added the World Class Policing Awards are important because they ‘acknowledge both the hard-work and commitment of policing professionals and the innovative projects which have delivered positive outcomes both internally for the police forces and externally for the communities they serve’.

“Recognising and rewarding innovation is important in all industries and these awards help police forces and public safety industry stakeholders to share, acknowledge and learn from best-practice policing initiatives wherever they occur. We look forward to recognising and celebrating the achievement of our policing professionals at the awards ceremony next month and for many years to come.”

Mr Fairley said Accenture have been particularly impressed by the quality and range of the nominations in what is the first year for the awards.

He said: “The entries we have seen in this inaugural year are all of high-quality and cover a wide spectrum of policing initiatives. Several entries stood out for me, reflecting new and innovative approaches to police use of new digital technologies to enhance their operations and investigations.

“This year’s entries reflect what we are seeing among our policing clients in the UK and globally, the public safety landscape is transforming at speed and scale and forward-thinking police forces are responding to these changes by investing in new technologies as well as innovative workforce strategies to help navigate an ever-changing policing landscape. “

Responding to the announcement, Bernard Rix, Founder of the World Class Policing Awards and Publisher of Policing Insight said: “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Accenture as our Platinum Founder Sponsors for this, the inaugural year of the World Class Policing Awards. Accenture and their UK Police Managing Director, Allan Fairley, have been a very great support to the Awards throughout its development from little more than an ‘idea on the back of an envelope’ some eighteen months ago.

“We now have 54 outstanding finalists, from whom a Grand Winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner in central London on Thursday, 14 November. I very much look forward to Accenture’s presentation that evening of that Grand Winner’s trophy to the very worthy recipients –  and to our acknowledgement throughout that evening of the superb work represented by every single one of those 54 Finalists”.

“The support from Accenture and fellow Founder sponsors Sopra SteriaChorus IntelligenceGrant Thornton and KPMG alongside key policing stakeholders including the National Police Chiefs’ Council, Police Federation of England & Wales, Police Superintendents’ Association, College of Policing, Police ICT Company and techUK has ensured that the inaugural World Class Policing Awards will be a prestigious event worthy of the fantastic officers and staff being recognised.”
