Based on interviews with senior police leaders, regulators, and experts with decades of experience both inside and outside policing, it takes a deep-dive into what’s going wrong and the implications of this for modern policing.
Future Police Contact Management: The Single Citizen View
An independent CoPaCC thematic report, published in partnership with Salesforce, examining the police contact management landscape in the wake of 2020’s HMICFRS’s A Call for help report, the publication of the NPCC’s National Contact Management Strategy (NCMS) in 2019, and 12 months of COVID-19 lockdowns and legislation. The report features FoI data focusing on forces’ 999 and 101 data, digital contact, use of Single Online Home (the national digital platform) and social media. It also includes interviews with police contact centre managers, major stakeholders and national leads to identify the major emerging trends as well as challenges and opportunities.
Police Contact Management: Demand Analysis
A report examining trends and performance in UK police call handling and online reporting. Data analysis, charts and commentary on data sourced from 36 police forces via Freedom of Information requests for the period April 2016 to March 2019.
PCCs and Statutory Transparency 2019
CoPaCC's latest review of Office for the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) transparency. Twenty-eight OPCCs took part in the review and were awarded the CoPaCC "Open and Transparent" Quality Mark. The report includes analysis of OPCC performance and commentary on transparency from OPCCs.

Twenty-seven OPCCs took part in the review with twenty-five awarded the CoPaCC "Open and Transparent" Quality Mark. Body-worn video in policing
A CoPaCC thematic report providing a one-stop shop for those wishing to know more about police use of body-worn video in England and Wales. The report looks at general practice, ethics, the law, professional standards, complaints and public interactions including stop and search and officer safety. A section on the technology examines the challenges for police forces procuring and implementing body worn video for their officers.
Drones in Policing
A CoPaCC thematic report featuring results of a survey of drones in use by UK police forces. The report covers the national strategy, training of officers and staff, effective management of drones and features case studies illustrating how forces are implementing drones. CoPaCC provides analyses of the opportunities with contributions from key stakeholders including the NPCC and NPAS.
Police and Fire Mergers and Collaboration
A CoPaCC thematic report including results of a survey identifying OPCC intentions for taking responsibility for fire governance. CoPaCC provides analyses of the benefits and challenges of police and fire mergers and collaboration. The report also features contributions from key stakeholders including the Minister for Policing and the Fire Service and key police and fire representative organisations.
Brexit: Implications for Policing and Security
A CoPaCC thematic report collating views and analysis on the Brexit implications for policing and security. The report includes contributions by Martyn Underhill, the PCC for Dorset, Sir Hugh Orde, the former head of ACPO and Chief Supt Gavin Thomas, President of the PSAEW. The report is sponsored by leading European law firm Fieldfisher.
