What’s new in this Police Governance Summit update?

With policing governance under ever-increasing scrutiny, it is absolutely essential that those responsible for work in this area are equipped with the knowledge and tools to fulfil their role.

CoPaCC is hosting the first Police Governance Summit 2018 this June to support OPCCs, Police and Crime Panels and other relevant stakeholders in meeting the challenges that lie ahead. 

Police governance has developed considerably since PCCs were first elected six years ago.  In addition to the potential for PCCs to take on fire governance, OPCCs undertake a considerable and growing range of policy-related work.  OPCCs are expected to deliver much speedier and wider support than the former police authority secretariats.  The challenges keep coming, from policing service and performance, to strategic development and change.

With the support and guidance of leading police governance professionals, academics and other interested parties, CoPaCC (Policing Insight’s parent organisation) is now organising the first annual “Police Governance Summit”, to take place on Wednesday, 6th to Thursday, 7th June. 
 
The Police Governance Summit 2018 focuses on areas that CoPaCC and our expert advisors have identified as important current challenges. The Summit includes sessions run and informed by leading national authorities and subject matter experts.
