CoPaCC and Policing Insight are pleased to introduce the “PCC of the Year” and “OPCC of the Year” Awards. The winners of the inaugural Awards will be announced in March 2016.
Police and Crime Commissioners were first elected in November 2012. The second national PCC elections will take place in May 2016. These first “PCC of the Year” Awards will focus on Police and Crime Commissioners’ work during these first three and a half years.
CoPaCC has closely monitored the work of Police and Crime Commissioners throughout this first term. We recently presented twenty four Offices of Police and Crime Commissioners (OPCCs) with the CoPaCC Transparency Quality Mark in recognition of excellence in one particular area of their work. Over the past three years, we have published four Thematics examining particular aspects of PCCs’ performance, and presented Thematic Awards based on our findings.
The new “PCC of the Year” and “OPCC of the Year” Awards continue CoPaCC’s declared aim of recognising and commending those responsible for the best performance in police governance.
