I am delighted to announce that Carina O’Reilly is to be Policing Insight’s new editor.
Carina worked at IHS Jane’s for seven years as a writer, editor and senior analyst on European security and organised crime. A specialist on politics, policing and security issues in Europe, Carina is also a doctoral researcher at Anglia Ruskin University where she is researching the relationships between legitimacy, accountability and and local policing. She has a Masters degree from Cambridge University in Social and Political Sciences and holds a Masters in Strategic Studies from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
Carina takes on a role that I have covered ever since CoPaCC launched Policing Insight just over one year ago.
Policing Insight now has, as its core team, two respected publishing professionals with a background at IHS Jane’s, the former publishers of the much-missed Police Review. Our publishing advisor, Ian Barrett, previously worked at IHS Janes for nine years.
The appointment of an experienced editor is the first step towards developing further high quality, valuable content and services for Policing Insight subscribers.
I know that Policing Insight’s many readers and contributors will join me in welcoming Carina as Editor. I look forward to her working with me, Ian and the wider CoPaCC team, as well as with our many contributors, in providing relevant, informative and engaging policing insight over the coming months and years.
Bernard
