In our exploratory analysis, we find that use-of-force coding varies across datasets, as does the availability of demographic and spatial information. Thus, practitioners and scholars interested in analyzing specific topics, such as how use of force varies spatially or by officer and/or civilian demographics, can use our new resource to access the datasets that include that information. This resource can also be used to inform research, policy, and practice on the transparency of police departments.
