Tina joined the police service as a police staff member in 1983, where she started working as a Typist for Kent Constabulary. She went on to undertake roles as Court File Officer, Assistant Officer Manager and Communications Officer, before relocating to the North West in 1994, where she continued her career with Greater Manchester Police both as Communications Officer, and Operational Control Room Supervisor.
In 2004, Tina moved to Cheshire Constabulary as Volunteers Manager, where she was responsible for reinvigorating and expanding the Special Constabulary, and introduced a Police Support Volunteer programme within the Force. In 2009, Tina was seconded to the National Police Improvement Agency as Regional Coordinator for the Special Constabulary, and when returning in 2011 moved back to Greater Manchester Police, where she continues in this role.
Tina returned to part time education whilst working full time and in 2011 obtained a Degree in Managing Voluntary and Community Organisations.
Tina is passionate about developing and supporting the Citizens in Policing programmes and has also been involved in supporting the national work in this business area for the last five years. She has organised two national Special Constabulary conferences, in 2006 for Cheshire and 2012 for Greater Manchester Police, and is pleased to be able to contribute to SC2016.
