NEWS: The Government's firm belief that a deal on policing and security will happen before the UK leaves the EU is at odds with the APCC's Brexit Working Group who told this year's APCC/NPCC summit there is absolutely 'no chance' of a deal. So, what plans are in place to manage a no deal Brexit?  

INSIGHT: Earlier this month, Lancashire Constabulary held a Blue Light Innovation Summit 2018 to explore the role of innovation in policing, but, in an environment of constrained budgets and mounting pressures, can the police service create the right environment to innovate?

INSIGHT: The role of Chief Constable was once much sought after, but with the number of applicants per post slumping to an average of two per role and retention rates falling, there's no denying it has lost its attraction for many. If it goes through, it will be the first time in fifty years that two police forces have amalgamated. However, Alison Hernandez has raised serious concerns about the merger. The meeting is due to start at 10.30am.

Analysis: Following catastrophic bush fires in 2009 which killed 173 people, Australia implemented a mobile phone alert system so the emergency services could directly contact and advise the public during a major incident. The system has already saved lives and has now been implemented in other countries, so why not the UK?

NEWS: The Police and Crime Commissioner of Dorset Police has officially announced at the CoPaCC Police Governance Summit, that Dorset Police and Devon and Cornwall Police are set to merge into a single force by May 2020 when the next Police and Crime Commissioner elections are due to take place.
