Mercedes Page is a Senior Fellow at ASPI, and has more than a decade of experience working on foreign policy, defence and security issues across government, think-tanks, not-for-profits and the private sector. She was previously a fellow with the Schmidt Futures International Strategy Forum (Asia), an initiative set up by the former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt; was a non-resident WSD-Handa Fellow at the Pacific Forum; and worked in the Australian defence industry. She is the founder and former CEO of Young Australians in International Affairs, and worked at ASPI between 2015-2016. Mercedes previously worked for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where she held a number of roles including leading Australia’s cyber and tech cooperation with Southeast Asia. She was one of the main authors of Australia’s 2021 International Cyber and Critical Tech Engagement Strategy. She was named by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence in 2018. Mercedes holds a Masters in International Studies and undergraduate degrees from the University of Adelaide.
