Dr Joan Donnelly is Head of Research and Policy at the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW). Joan leads a team that is responsible for ensuring the PFEW’S ability to influence through research and coherent policy. This includes assisting the General Secretary in developing policy positions regarding pay and conditions; support to key stakeholder interactions; and primary and secondary research on policing matters. An Occupational Psychologist by profession, prior to working for the PFEW Joan was a Managing Consultant with a major UK research and consultancy firm, and led multiple high profile projects on culture change, selection, surveys, and training mainly for government departments such as the MOD, Home Office, Communities and Local Government, and the NHS.
