Profile
Gareth Davies has experienced the intense highs and lows of policing. As a Sergeant he has led teams in a variety of specialist roles. In 2015, he became acutely aware that he had lost his love for the job he had dedicated the majority of his life to. His optimistic, positive approach had morphed into cynicism and disengagement, while at home his marriage began to fail and he began to experience disconnection both personally and professionally. Recognising himself in many of his colleagues, Gareth travelled to Houston, Texas to study the ground-breaking research of Dr Brené Brown into topics including vulnerability, courage, shame and self-worth. Gareth now runs a consultancy supporting public and private sector organisations to build psychological safety and emotional intelligence into their cultures and develop braver, more courageous leaders.
