Christine Townsend is a subject matter expert in communication and community engagement, with over 20 years’ experience across journalism, policing, and government. She began her career as a national news journalist before moving into public safety communications, holding senior roles in UK policing and at the Ministry of Justice. She has managed some of the most high-profile events and complex incidents of the past two decades — among them the funeral of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the London 2012 Olympics, historic abuse investigations, large-scale protests, and significant reputational challenges. Christine has provided communication and community engagement consulting to law enforcement, emergency services, and government bodies around the world. She currently delivers crisis communication training for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) and serves as a subject matter expert for the US Department of Justice.
