Following the creation of the National Crime Agency, in 2013, the UK International Crime Bureau was set up to help police forces and law enforcement agencies work with counterparts around the world to combat international crimes. This report sets out findings of an inspection into whether risks are identified and mitigated in a timely and prioritised manner, and how efficient and effective the International Crime Bureau is. In 2014, HMIC published An inspection of the NCA, which examined how efficient and effective it was in undertaking the statutory requirement of the criminal intelligence function with regard to information. The 2014 report identified a number of areas for improvement and made recommendations to the NCA, which were addressed in a follow-up inspection in 2015. The progress made against these recommendations and areas for improvement is set out in this report. The report published today is a public version of the report submitted to the Home Secretary in March 2016.
