Merseyside Police said it made 32 arrests, carried out 66 stop and searches, executed 11 warrants and seized eight vehicles on Monday. It comes after nine-year-old Olivia was shot dead in her own home in Dovecot a week ago. The College of Policing, which covers England and Wales, is to review its “notifiable associations” policy after a backlash to its suggestion that fraternising with journalists could lead to corruption and operational compromise. Police Scotland has had similar rules in place since at least 2017. These state that officers who associate with reporters risk their integrity and that this may lead to “failure, frustration or disgrace”.
