However, it continues to be important to understand how social media has been integrated into policing activities and how it is perceived by law enforcement agencies. The present study used qualitative data to look at police perspectives on social media, leading to a better understanding of how social media are seen and used by police service employees and the effects of integrating social media into police practices. The analysis has concrete implications for more efficient use of social media by police agencies.
