Stolen vehicles are an impressive crime committed on the highways or motorways, fighted traditionally by the criminal police activity, better known as vehicles anticrime.Recent evolutions of the Police activity concept are pushing scholars and practitioners to a deeper evaluation about the effectiveness of Road Policing as a new common concept of activity, as an European Union challenge, referred to legal and operational aspects of police cooperation and Cross Border Enforcement-A new Road Policing vision is more based on the respect of rules and than only on the security of the infrastructure related to the repression of violations. The new system has to be citizen-centered , in order to guarantee traffic safety and protect roads users in all circumstances. Road Policing has an effective role in reduction of numbers of death persons on the roads as well as a clear impact on efforts against stolen vehicles trafficking and crimes, on the highways or motorways.According to the present Authors, the introduction of the new concept of “linear city” helps to better understand the real importance of the “road safety problem” and to determine effective enforcement tools.Data results about Road Policing, obtained through the creation of Police Forces networks able to use instruments of police cooperation and through the correct application of Cross Border Enforcement in joint operations, suggest a significant increasing in effectiveness, while the adoption and exportation of common best practices on road safety is a further element of strengthening of the policy. Present study findings suggest proposing to the European Commission the creation of a new European legal Body called Road Safety Agency. The latest figures, which apply to January 2023, show that West Yorkshire Police’s Contact Management Centre is answering 999 calls in an average of 6.42 seconds. This figure is a full second faster than the results in December 2022 where West Yorkshire Police’s 999 answering speed was 7.4 seconds. The Force’s Contact Management Centre also placed 2nd in the country for percentage of calls answered in under 10 seconds, at 89.2%, closely following Humberside Police who were at 89.4%.
