A staff report, which goes before the community services committee on June 27, proposes an alternative emergency number to 911 and a 24-hour community based response team of mental health professionals and civilian support workers. If approved, the pilot will be rolled out in the summer of 2024 in one neighbourhood before expanding. The neighbourhood has not yet been chosen. The Institute has both a national and global profile and reputation, for example playing a key role in the international Global Policing Innovation Exchange (GPX) Program. The GPX plays an increasingly influential role in law enforcement across the world, allowing policing leaders to share ideas and initiatives. In this third video of four, AIPM Visiting Fellow Dr Jenny Cartwright explains her work at the Institute, where she is currently on secondment from Australian Federal Police. This work includes leading syndicates on the AIPM's postgraduate diploma courses, as well as designing, organising and delivering some of the Institute's world class programmes, both within Australia and overseas.Filming took place in the week that a Women in Policing course, organised by Jenny, was being delivered.
