Invented in the UK, by UK policing and law enforcement, we remain world leading in our deployment of ANPR and our ambition for the future. From the first arrest credited to ANPR in the 1980s, to the launch of a new National ANPR Service in 2019, ANPR has evolved into a critical capability. As vital as an intelligence tool to prevent threats to national security and to combatting serious and organised crime, as it is to safeguarding and improving road-safety.
The focus for this year’s National ANPR Conference will be on Innovation, and how the UK policing and law enforcement can work in partnership with the Home Office, with academia and with commercial suppliers to accelerate the pace of innovation by harnessing technology, data and our collective know how to evolve and transform in the application of ANPR for policing and law enforcement purposes.
