‘Fragmented and inconsistent’ use of OoCDs leaves children more likely to offend, warn inspectorates

A recent joint report from HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services and HM Inspectorate of Probation warns that the inconsistent use of out-of-court disposals for children is creating a “postcode lottery” for justice outcomes, and leaving youngsters likely to become “more deeply involved in offending behaviour”, as Policing Insight’s Sarah Gibbons reports.
