CCW is committed to delivering the future of critical communications and selects a new host nation each year. Previously held in Austria, Finland, The United Arab Emirates, Belgium and more, this year the event takes place in the UK on 16th-18th June 2026 at the Excel London with The UK Home Office Emergency Services Network (ESN) supporting as host operator. They bring their years of experience working with and for emergency services users to the event. Plus, they can share their extensive knowledge of implementing changes to critical communications on a national scale to the international audience, as well as sharing their expertise on the infrastructure and planning needed to enable the transition from TETRA to mobile broadband communications.
TCCA is proud to support ESN’s hosting of CCW 2026. We believe this event will not only celebrate a milestone in the UK’s mission-critical communications journey, but will also catalyse global progress in the industry. Together, we stand at a fundamental moment — one where broadband critical communications become operational reality, not just an aspiration.”
Mladen Vratonjic, Chairman of the Board, TCCA
The success of ESN and the broader ecosystem depends on seamless collaboration among governments, regulators, network providers, equipment manufacturers, and emergency services end-users. By demonstrating this on the global stage of CCW, the UK sends a powerful message of leadership and inspiration – especially for authorities looking to migrate from legacy narrowband systems to broadband critical communications networks.
A core element of CCW is the 3-day conference programme. Taking place across 3 theatres, this year’s theme is Uniting the Sector – Working Together to Enhance the Ecosystem. Exemplifying this theme, Mr Magnus Brunner, Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, European Union, will deliver the event’s opening keynote and focus on strengthening security, resilience and cooperation across Europe. ESN understandably has a strong presence on the agenda and will take part in discussions covering how to keep societies safe now and in the future, broadband in action across blue light and national agencies, and present demonstrations, and share professional insight and learning opportunities to enable emergency services users to use mission-critical communications technology more effectively.
Complimenting the conference programme are Focus Forums, deep-dive, in-depth sessions that provide knowledge sharing and comprehensive updates in specific topic areas. The focused sessions will comprise multiple presentations, interactive discussions and roundtables, allowing specialists to come together to learn about developments and share their own challenges, experiences and skills.
At its heart, CCW is a global networking hub. It brings together partners from across the globe and unites them in a single location. Over 250 exhibitors, partners and supporting associations will come together in London this year, including platinum sponsor Motorola Solutions, Gold sponsor Ericsson, Silver Sponsor Comarch Communications, and Bronze sponsor Nokia. The exhibition has seen significant growth in recent years. Between 2021-2025 there was a 221% increase in exhibition space, and this year set to be the biggest ever event.
A unique feature for CCW is the Global Village, a gathering of carefully selected government authorities and national operators. Representatives of national critical communications projects discuss ideas, challenges and best practice to facilitate knowledge sharing and benchmarking across international borders. Over 20 nations are slated to take part this year, including the Republic of Korea, Brazil, Norway, Germany and Australia.
Running parallel to CCW, the International Critical Communications Awards (ICCAs) are the most prestigious awards in the sector. The highly anticipated annual programme recognises the success of products, organisations and most influential individuals that have pushed boundaries and capabilities within the field. Over 50 judges critiqued entries across 10 categories that included Best Use of Critical Communications in Public Safety, Best Hybrid Device and Young Engineer of the Year. Winners will be announced at the ICCA Awards Presentation Evening, Tuesday 16 June 2026 at the De Vere Grand Connaught, London.
CCW is presented by The Critical Communications Association (TCCA), which leads the global development and promotion of standardized critical communications solutions.
