To guide the national strategy to stamp out Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), the Government published the Anti-Social Behaviour Action Plan in May 2023. This three-pronged approach to deal with ASB for good is a step in the right direction to build upon existing work by police, local councils and charities in making streets safer and investing in communities. There is still a long way to go in the battle against ASB but through multi-agency collaboration and early intervention, organisations can deliver a joined-up response to help prevent ASB.

  • During 2022, police forces in England and Wales received 1,039,579 crime reports about anti-social behaviour
  • 24% of adults witnessed or experienced ASB in their area in 2021 -2022, according to The Telephone-operated Crime Survey for England and Wales
  • Nationally, 75% of ASB cases are resolved at first intervention, reports by Resolve reveal
