Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Conference
(Ended 27th Jun 2024)
In-person
27th Jun 2024 to 27th Jun 2024
Violence against women and girls (VAWG) causes immeasurable harm on victims and society. A woman is killed by a man every three days in the UK and VAWG crimes count for at least 16%* of all crime across England and Wales.
The government and the NPCC have put VAWG on the same footing as serious organised crime and terrorism, defining VAWG as a national threat.
Join Westminster Insight’s Tackling Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Conference to gain insight into innovative multi-agency initiatives to improve support services for victims and survivors.
Learn from survivors of VAWG on how to overcome barriers to reporting, improve protection for individuals and communities that experience VAWG, and work towards prevention.
Gain insight from expert speakers from across policing, health, government, criminal justice, the third sector, and people with lived experience to embed collaboration, build local partnerships, and implement a public health approach.
Spotlighting underrepresented groups such as older people, we will discuss how to support older women who experience domestic abuse, coercive control, and sexual abuse. We will cover the progress made on crimes such as spiking, and online abuse.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about the future policy landscape, best practice, and effective prevention strategies to protect women and girls from harm in public, online, and in domestic environments.
