Building legitimacy: challenge, learning and action

Online Conference: Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 September 2021

The event is being supported by IBM United Kingdom Ltd.

There will a number of presentations, conversations and interactive breakout sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions, participate in polls, and engage in live chat with other participants.

The conference aims to challenge our thinking, learn from current programmes and activity, and provide a call to action. The event is designed to support chief officers, Police and Crime Commissioners, police force diversity and inclusion leads, community engagement, and representatives from staff associations in their leadership and delivery of the DEI strategy.

Planned presentations will cover learning from national programmes including, the Police Uplift Programme and the Inclusion and Race Programme. Presentations and inputs will span all three domains of the NPCC Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Strategy: our organisation, our communities and our partners. We will explore accountability with presentations from HMICFRS and the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners. Breakout sessions will enable opportunities for more detailed discussions on the work of the DEI Coordination Committee, College of Policing, national staff networks, Police Uplift Programme, and the Inclusion and Race Programme.

There will be no cost to this event, and we look forward to welcoming a broad range of delegates from forces and the wider policing family.

Registration is now open, and details can be found below.

This will be an exceptional opportunity to engage at both a strategic and practitioner level on a full programme designed to inspire, challenge and support thinking and practice in DEI.
