Venue: University of Strathclyde, Technology & Innovation Centre, Glasgow

Digital technology and data transform the user experience for victims and witnesses interacting with justice services across Scotland. From remote hearings to virtual reality ‘walk-throughs’ of a court environment, technology is helping to transform services to meet modern expectations.

Frontline policing is also responding to the challenges and opportunities of the digital age: officers are becoming experts in digital evidence and forensics, and data is increasingly being shared more seamlessly across the system.

Be part of the discussion as we bring together vital justice agencies in Scotland and internationally to explore how innovative, data-driven solutions, smart devices, cloud platforms, and, increasingly, AI are shaping the justice system in Scotland and abroad.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the latest digital justice strategic policy direction from key government agencies
  • Gain insights into how cutting-edge technologies are used in policing and justice environments at home and internationally.
  • Learn how justice and policing bodies are getting to grips with AI – from ethics and bias to training algorithms.
  • Familiarise yourself with best-in-class industry tech standards when developing and designing modern justice services.
  • Become conversant in the principles and techniques that underpin good organisational data management.
