5-7 July 2023, Principality Stadium, Cardiff.

The event is hosted by the University of South Wales and the Centre for the Study of Missing Persons at Portsmouth University. It will be four years since the last in-person conference, and we are delighted to welcome everyone back.

Attending in-person will give you the opportunity to network and learn from a diverse range of people including academics, practitioners, policy makers, charities, and those with lived experiences of missing. This timely and topical conference will explore and discuss the full range of issues associated with the challenges faced by those who are missed, those who respond to missing and those who are affected by missing.

You will experience

  • Talks from leading academics and practitioners discussing cutting edge research and initiatives including multi-disciplinary responses to missing, harms, public involvement with missing people, understanding family perspectives of missing and improving practice.
  • Plenty of opportunities to network, and share experiences and knowledge.
  •  A tour of the Principality Stadium home to the Six Nations rugby tournament

Check out the agenda here. Note that this agenda is subject to change.

The 2023 conference is a face-to-face event where you’ll engage with leading practitioners and researchers in this field. We will also be offering live-streaming for international delegates and for those unable to attend in-person. Attending in-person, you will gain full access to speakers and interactive ‘Marketplace of ideas’, which explore successful practices and ideas that aim to:

  • Provide a forum for identifying, collecting, and highlighting innovative partnership approaches, as a basis for exploring the principles behind success and sustainability of such collaborations.
  • Stimulate interest in the development of new collaborative programs.
