The workshop will consider preparedness from two perspectives. Firstly, what lessons have been learnt by the police on a national scale to ensure that all forces are able to coordinate properly should they find themselves in a similar situation to the pandemic again. As Lead for Operation Talla (PPE), Supt Hannah Wheeler is able to provide first-hand insight into what the situation was for policing preparedness and resilience from the very start of the pandemic through to now, and what that landscape looks like going forward. Secondly, Dr Stuart Hyde QPM will discuss the role of the voluntary sector within national resilience picture through the lens of the British Red Cross. What lessons have been learnt about maximising resilience and coordinating the range of skills and experience that exist within the Voluntary Sector.
