Prior to joining the Joint Central Committee or JCC (now known as the Interim National Board since June 2014), Steve White served as a representative at both sergeant rank, serving as secretary of the Sergeants Branch Board and inspector rank, serving as chair of the Inspectors Branch Board and vice chair of the Joint Branch Board for more than a decade.
Locally, Steve has been heavily involved in discipline work and has represented officers of all ranks.
Steve’s comprehensive operational service is also wide ranging, including six years as an authorised firearms officer on ARVs, roads policing, working as response team and also as the staff officer to the ACC Commander of one of the largest BCU’s in the country.
For his role as inspector whilst serving in Bristol, Steve received three commendations for courage and leadership.
Steve was elected vice chair of the JCC in November 2012. In this role, he supported the Federation chair in his engagement with stakeholders and opinion formers and acted as an ambassador for the police and the Police Federation.
He was also involved in the Executive Board National Member Database project and in negotiations with ACPO regarding data protection.
