Profile
Dr Simon Guilfoyle is an operational police officer, author of the book ‘Intelligent Policing’, and holder of a PhD from the University of Warwick. His research focuses on the behavioural implications of the use of different types of police performance information and in particular, the relationship between certain data formats and dysfunction. He has delivered regular inputs on his specialist subject for the College of Policing Senior Leadership Programme and as part of other national policing forums. He also lectures at various universities and is currently engaged in curriculum design for forthcoming programmes.
Simon is the co-founder of the annual extreme endurance event ‘COPS 30 Miler’, which raises funds for the Care of Police Survivors and Royal Marines Charity – therefore he spends much of his spare time in the hills carrying heavy loads for long distances across difficult terrain, for fun. He also enjoys listening to music and drinking beer.
