Professor Max Abbott is Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Professor Max Abbott’s pioneering research and advocacy in mental health and public health have informed and shaped policies that have had positive impacts on communities throughout New Zealand. Under his leadership, AUT’s Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences has become one of the country’s largest and most diverse health, sports and science education providers. In 2016, he was a recipient of the Companion of New Zealand Order of Merit for outstanding services to health, science and education.
