Martin graduated from Kingston University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and immediately entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to train as a British Army Officer. Martin was commissioned into the Royal Engineers and spent nearly two decades in a variety of positions including leadership, command, HR, strategic planning & operational implementation. Martin left the military in April 2013 and entered the policing sector as the Chief Executive for the PCC in Humberside. In Nov 2016 he moved to Northamptonshire, again as the CEO for the PCC. Throughout this time he has been involved with governance, accountability, leadership, local/regional/national planning, engaging with government departments along with other national agencies. In 2019 he moved from the PFCC office (now the PFCC due to a change in fire service governance in Northamptonshire) to take up the role as the first Joint Assistant Chief Officer across police and fire along with being the Programme Director for shared enabling services across the two blue light organisations in Northamptonshire. Martin has now taken up the position of Director for Client Services at Futr.ai, which is a company focused on delivering conversational, multi-channel, machine learning chatbots that aim to increase inside productivity for officers & staff and improved/instant accessibility for the public
