I joined Dorset Police as a PCSO in 2008 and worked on various neighbourhood policing teams across the county until 2013. I then took a career break and completed a Masters (MA) in criminology and criminological psychology at Kingston University in London. After completing my studies I left Dorset Police and joined Peabody Housing Trust as a Community Safety Officer in London, covering the London borough of Westminster City amongst others across the city. I then returned to policing in 2016 as a Prevent Officer covering Dorset once more within the South-West Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Unit (SWCTIU). Since then I have started a PhD in criminology at the University of Southampton. My main area of interest is police restructuring, which is the basis of my PhD thesis. Other key areas of interest include terrorism, domestic violence and community policing.
