Profile
Mandy is a Lecturer in Criminology at Leeds Beckett University. Mandy was first employed by Leeds Beckett University in 2014, as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Criminology and Psychology degree. Subsequently, she moved to a research role at LBU and returned in 2017 as a Lecturer in Criminology. She has been working in the field of criminology for over twenty years, beginning with ESRC-funded doctoral research which was completed at the University of Manchester in 1997. After her PhD, she spent two years as a research consultant for the Central Research Unit of the Scottish Government, tasked to assess the nature and extent of repeat victimisation in Scotland. Following this research she worked in the Applied Criminology Centre at the University of Huddersfield, where she was a member of a consortium employed to evaluate the Home Office’s Burglary Reduction Programme. In 2001, she was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University where she was Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Criminology degree. At present, Mandy is part of a research cluster at the University which is working on the final stages of a research project on the well-being of asylum-seekers and refugees.
