Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Manuel Lobato Barradas is a Riot and Crowd Control Unit Commander in the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) in Portugal. He has extensive professional experience of strategic planning and management of public order events as part of the GNR Intervention Unit. Jorge has been deployed three time to East Timor as a Formed Police Unit Commander between 2001 and 2012 and, to Bosnia Herzegovina as a Multinational Integrated Police Unit Company Commander. As part of the Strategic Planning and International Affairs Division, Jorge has provided training for GNR officers and units deploying on international missions. He has a degree in Criminology from Lusiada University and, an MsC from both the Military Academy and Nova University Law Faculty.
