Profile
Ailsa Beaton started her working life in retail before training as an accountant and specialising in information technology. She is a chemistry graduate and has worked for General Electric (USA), PA Consulting Group and ICL as well as in the public sector. Ailsa spent 12 years at board level with the Metropolitan Police Service responsible for information, IT and the operational application of technology. She was also a Special Constable, working initially with a pan-London public order unit and latterly with the Safer Transport Team having qualified as a response driver. Ailsa’s broad experience of finance, sales and marketing and information technology as well as having led procurement, commercial and HR teams is now used undertaking consultancy, non-executive and interim roles. She is a Non Executive Director with the recently regulated Bacs Payments Schemes and with the Information Commissioner’s Office. She is also a governor of The Legal Education Foundation. Her particular interests are risk and performance management, technology-enabled change, sourcing and stakeholder engagement, but she also finds time to indulge her ambition to breed Burmese cats.
